 The Tachi Kid Poppies Martinez bring home the gold at Tachi Palace Fights 16 "The Return"

Tachi Palace Fights was back at it with TPF 16 "The Return" August 22nd 2013 from Lemoore's Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino. In the main event Lemoore's "Tachi Kid" Poppies Martinez met Hawthorne Ca's Cristos Ciagos for the vacant TPF lightweight championship. Ciagos would get a take down early in the fight, but before he could cause any damage. Martinez would scramble to top position, where he landed some elbows. Ciagos was able to escape with a sweep and move to full mount. Ciagos then took Martinez's back and worked on tightening up an rear naked choke. Martinez stood calm and broke free where he then landed some elbows from Ciagos guard.

Ciagos looked to reverse positions and Martinez locked up a guillotine choke. Ciagos tried to fight out of it but could not escape and was forced to tap at 4:27 in round 1. Making Poppies Martinez the TPF lightweight champion.

Fresno's "King Arthur" Art Arciniega returned to the throne as king of the TPF featherweight division with a split decision win over a very tough Marcello Cassero out of Santa Rosa. In a very close fight Arciniega was able to keep the pressure on Cassero scoring with combos. Cassero did his damage as well leaving Arciniega bloodied up, but the after five rounds of action judges scored the fight () making Art Arciniega the new48-47, 46-49, 48-47 TPF featherweight champion.

Issac De Jesus stops Visalia's Darren Crisp by tko after the bout was restarted due to a low blow. De Jesus landed a combo that sent Crisp to the Canvas, De Jesus would land a couple more shots as Crisp covered up before the referee stepped in to stop the bout at 2:20 in round 1.

Ricky Legere Jr defeats Joey Cabezas by submission to earn him a shot at the TPF welterweight title in November. Legere locked up a arm bar that forced the tap 3:22 in round 1.

Alexander Crispim stops Sergio Quinones by submission, with a arm bar that forced the tap at 1:43 in round 2.

Manuel Quezada needed only 10 seconds to put Robert Michael to sleep with a left hook. Quezada moves his record to 4-0.

Woodlake's Cain Carrizosa defeats Cody Orrison by unanimous decision.

Rolando Velasco defeats Alex Rojas by submission, with a rear naked choke that ended the fight at 2:51 in round 3.

Anthony Figueroa defeats Jimmy Grant by unanimous decision.

Alex Perez stops Jeff Carson with a guillotine choke that forced the tap at :48 seconds of round 1.
